Knots

Lord,

Please help me to see situations in the light that you want me to see them.

Help me to not mistake one thing for another simply out of convenience. 

Help me to see which decisions give You glory and to then carry out and live according to Your will.  Help me not to slip through the cracks of my mind that lead to my own will. 

When my tie myself all in knots because I am worried if I have done the right thing, help me to turn to You for answers.

Joy

Lord,

Help me to be open to joy in my life.

Help me me to accept that I can turn things around when I feel like the storm is rocking the boat too much.  You are with me, ready to walk, even on water, to help me.

Help me to know when to open my petals to others.

And when to close my petals to rest.

Lord,

Thank You for the gifts you have given to me and are giving me.  Let me learn how to best use them.  I have needed to be shown that the stream flows above ground and is not meant to be buried.

Wash Me

Lord,

Wash me in Your mercy.

Wash me in Your love.

Wash me in Your peace.

Let me always remember Your life giving water,

Your cleansing water, for I am always in need of Your mercy.

Crack Me Open

Lord,

Crack me open so that I let You in rather than running away when I am afraid, tired, or stubborn.

Let your Spirit flow within me so that I might always seek to know You better.

Show me that there are places to rest along the journey of walking with You and toward You while picking up my cross and following You.

When I rest in You, help me to remember that it is ok to truly rest; I don't have to keep one eye open while looking for danger like those who rest in only the world must do.

Lord,

Help me to remember that it is wonderful to stand out from the crowd if I am standing out for You.

For even though there are thorns that come with standing out and standing up for You, there is great beauty and reward.

Storm

Lord,

When I can see the storm coming and I need to remaining full of trust, hold my hand.

Help me to be like the other apostles who stayed in the boat and simply waited for you as you walked on the water toward them.  Yes, Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward You, but You were walking toward the boat anyway.  Keep my faith steady, for the waters will calm and the storm will subside as You approach. 

I know that You blow the clouds away when it is your will, and you leave the storm where it is when it is your will. I needn't know why or when or how but only that You draw near.

Help me, Lord, to always seek your Light.  You are there, ready to walk across the waters toward me, ready to embrace me.

Help me to keep my eyes fixed on You and not the storm.  I am a sky gazer, and I need help keeping my eyes fixed where they should be fixed!
